Bee Hiving
We love bees! But who knew? None of us until the day the bees began to make themselves known to us. It all began with the water dripping onto the very large Elephant Ears…which are growing here because of the money my Dad gave me when he passed. On Thu, Jun 3, 2021 at 9:17 […]

Pale Blue Wedding Cake & DIY Cake Stand
Pale Blue Wedding Cake The bride was a handy woman. She put together – with hammer, nail and screws, a small wood palette and painted it in pale blue and white. Stenciled ‘love’ on the edges in alternate colors. Then added the 3 tier white, blue, white cake. With the ‘sea stars’ as a finish. […]

The Cardinal Boone Breathes Life & Love Into American Cuisine
We found the best brewery beer and unique cuisine, in Boone, North Carolina. With exceptional American fusion concepts like – avocado, bacon, bison burger with fried okra and a venison burger with sour apple pickles and aged cheddar cheese – the pinball and space invader machines along with some lovely brew selections the most memorable of which were the tiny glasses of the 8oz powerful stout – hints of chocolate, coffee, creamy and thick – reminiscent of a Poor Richard’s beer! We were missing the musket fire and raccoon hats! But loving the small business and the people we met here!!! Going back again! Soon. College towns are great for this sort of character!

Ocean View Photography at Harry Harris Park
Sony Alpha in hand, once a month I hatch and execute an evil plan to make an ocean view photography shoot – typically on my way back from the school run. I sneakily make my way to Harry Harris Park – in Tavernier, 33070, Florida – it’s a quiet (during the weekdays) large public park on the ocean. It’s the only large ocean horizon view the public get to see in the Upper Florida Keys. It can get busy. But at the weekends and holidays. It’s where those trailered boats come to be dropped off – they park their trailers, tidily along the fence by the road – hop eagerly into their awaiting water craft and take off with a roar of engines and white water wake…flags, hair and sunglasses straps flapping and flying behind them. Getting set up for ocean view photography isn’t straight forward. For one reason, at certain times of the day the sun is right in your face. But I discovered the lenses and sensors can handle it if they are set up right! And the f22 aperture setting worked well for me on this trip.
